I was reading one of the more popular bodybuilding magazines and it was nice to see Tony Pearson’s name.
For those young guys out there who don’t know who Tony is, Tony was a great bodybuilder back in the eighties and nineties and was even in Vince McMahon’s WBF (world bodybuilding federation).
Tony had one of the widest backs in bodybuilding and I really thought that he looked good during his WBF days.
He also was a Mixed Pairs World Champion.
Nice to see your name again Tony!
Next, it was nice to see that Gustavo Badell is moving in the right direction.
I read that he won the Atlantic City Men’s Pro.
Glad to see that Gustavo is doing well.
Lastly I’d like to touch on something that I feel is a shame.
I don’t know if many of you remember the name Trey Brewer.
Trey was all-over the magazine a year or so ago in ads for a particular supplement company which I will not mention.
He was pumped up as the next-big-thing and when he didn’t live up to the hype well he disappeared.
To me this is a shame, I say this because if I remember correctly, Trey was only twenty-two or something like that, and all this pressure was dumped on him as this awesome bodybuilder.
You have to remember that he was still an amateur and that was it.
He was not even a pro, not even twenty-five years old, and this kid was hyped up.
I couldn’t even imagine, at that young an age, having all that pressure on me to live up to my potential.
I don’t think I would have done very well.
Let’s hope now that the spotlight is not on Trey, he can train, and just do his thing and bring a great package to the 2009 NPC Nationals.
That’s it for today.
Until Next Time
