In this installment of If I Could Begin Again, I want to talk about something very few of us will ever truly do.
And that is.
FOLLOW OUR DREAMS
One of my regrets is not trying to become a professional cyclist.
Yes, I know this is a bodybuilding blog, but this applies to everyone, not just bodybuilders.
Long before Lance Armstrong was dominating the Tour-de-France every year, I was eagerly watching Greg LeMond ride the tour.
Yes, I loved bodybuilding, but, I don’t know, maybe it was because I knew deep-down that I didn’t have the genetics to be a world class bodybuilder, but something was there with cycling.
Did I have the talent to be a world class cyclist, I don’t know, but I know one thing, I think I could have been pretty good.
But like most things in life, it fell by the side and while it has always been in the back-of-my-mind, I know my time for that has past.
So for today,
I’d like to tell all those young bodybuilders out there, and anyone else with a dream,
FOLLOW IT.
Yes, I know not many people play baseball, or basketball, or even become successful bodybuilders.
But you know what; someone has to make it, so why shouldn’t it be you.
One thing though,
You must be smart about it, say you want to be the next basketball superstar.
Sure you may have the height, but can you move, are you strong enough.
Yes, maybe on height alone you can make it, but I know if it was me, I wouldn’t want to just make it, I would want to be one of the best to ever play my chosen sport.
So go after your dream,
But do it the smart way.
Learn everything you can about your sport, every possible thing that you can pick up, pick it up, be the best.
CONCLUSION
Dreams are funny because no matter how many times you tell someone that you want to do something, they honestly, truly can’t know how you feel inside.
How you want it, deep down, so badly that you can almost see it.
So if you have a dream, follow it, but be prepared.
UNTIL NEXT TIME
KEEP BELEIVING
