Craziest Let Workout Ever

Posted on 19 October 2009 by Admin

You always read stories about people throwing up after a hard and heavy leg session, and while I have never done that, I figured I’d give you what I consider the hardest leg day I’ve ever had.

While it may seem tame to some, I can assure you that I certainly didn’t feel that way during or for days after finishing.

THE ROUTINE

I’ve noted before on the blog that I am a big fan of the basics, so one day I got it into my head that I was going to do one set of twenty reps of deadlifts (as squats, well back squats actually, never have worked for me) and one set of twenty of stiff legged dead lifts.

To be truth full I always use too much weight when I try to do things like this and this leg workout was NO exception.

I barley squeaked out enough dead lifts and then went, with as little rest as possible into stiff legged dead lifts.

I got through (barley) the stiffed legged dead lifts and promptly collapsed into a chair and that was it.

Well, not exactly, because I did finish the workout off with some slant-board sit-ups, but really I was finished after the back-to-back of deadlifts and almost-stiff-legged deadlifts.

SOME COMMENTS

Thinking back on the above workout, I know I could have added some farmer’s walks; farmer’s walks are where you carry a heavy object in each hand like a dumbbell, for either time or a specified distance.

In case you’ve never tried them these hit every muscle in the body, and with my body already wiped out by the heavy work, this would have been the ideal way to end the workout.

Or you could, if you favor back squats, do back squats for twenty and deadlifts for twenty and then hit stiff-legged deadlifts for a burn out set of as many reps as you can get and then add in farmer’s walks for distance.

This would really toast you and make for a fantastic workout.

Of course, I realize that a lot of people favor using the leg press for a hard core leg shock workout and this works too.

CONCLUSION

The above leg workout is my idea of a hard work, but I realize to some it would not even make their top ten.

I welcome to read about your craziest leg workout ever.
